How the telc A1 Mündliche Prüfung is structured

Three parts, about 15 minutes, 15 points. This page explains the format. It is not an official telc exam and it does not issue a certificate.

Written German practice is easy to find. Spontaneous speaking practice for the oral exam is not. The telc Deutsch A1 speaking test, in the Start Deutsch 1 shape, is a short paired speaking exam.

The sitting is about 15 minutes. The score is out of 15, split 3 / 6 / 6 across three Teile. Preparation time in the WortGo practice config is zero. The app simulates two candidates, not a four-person exam room.

Teil 1 — Sich vorstellen (3 points)

  • Introduce yourself: name, age, origin, home, languages, job, hobby.
  • Spell your surname.
  • Give a phone number.
  • Three candidate speaking turns.

Teil 2 — Fragen stellen und beantworten (6 points)

  • Two rounds with a partner using word cards.
  • You ask, the partner answers, the partner asks, you answer.
  • In WortGo the partner is a scripted persona named Anna, not a live examiner.

Teil 3 — Bitten formulieren und reagieren (6 points)

  • Two rounds with request cards.
  • You make a request, the partner reacts, then you respond to the partner's request.

What the practice mode does when it is on

Practice mode includes a help sheet, clip review before send, and retries. Mock mode is stricter: no help sheet, one take. You hold to speak. Speech is transcribed. Analysis can return a score, per-Teil coverage, and up to three ranked fixes. A fix can open a targeted drill.

Pronunciation is not scored. Points in the practice rubric come from task fulfilment and comprehensibility. Interaction and range are coaching, not official telc marks.

This is practice shaped like the exam. It is not an official telc exam.
