WortGo

An Anki and Quizlet alternative built for German

Anki wins on control. Quizlet wins on quick classroom sets. WortGo is for German cards that already carry articles, examples, and review timing.

If you already have a working Anki setup for German, you may not need another app. Anki is open, flexible, and good at custom scheduling. The cost is setup time and card construction.

Quizlet is fast for matching games and class sets. The cards are usually shallow, and long-term scheduling is not the point of the product.

WortGo is narrower. It is a German vocabulary web app: enriched cards, spaced repetition, story prompts from hard words, decks, and a telc A1-shaped speaking practice guide. It is not a general flashcard engine for every subject.

Choose Anki if you want full control, plugins, and decks for languages other than German. Choose WortGo if you want German cards that already know about gender, examples, and a review button set of Again, Hard, Good, and Easy — and you are willing to build the deck inside WortGo.
